Good evening it’s Farmer Chegeh Kariuki from Satellite Maai Mahiu Naivasha Nakuru.
I hope you are doing well I am good. It has been a good season,we started well with light rains planted maize and beans.
it’s now 2 months I wanted to do top dressing now but the rain fall is so erratic if it doesn’t rain soon, I will lose all the crops in a one acre farm.
This place is relatively arid can an investment of 40,000 in a quarter acre work?
Are the returns good in this are.
?Water is abit far one has to purchase via the vendors lorrys selling 1000 liters at ksh 1000..
Kindly is is worth risking.
I was in a meeting at KICC on Agriculture expo this month and they stressed on an issue of timing as it affect the prices of food due to demand and Supply.
I would like to do Agriculture but rainfall pattern is very erratic.

Kes 40,000 will supoort an overhead irrigation system on a 1/4 acre. Either a rain hose kit, or an impact or rain gun sprinkler system
