PUMPS TO SUIT ALL YOUR NEEDS
Grekkon Limited sells and installs all types of water pumps in Kenya for irrigation. Irrigation water pumps for sale in Kenya are categorised according to placement and energy source. Our irrigation water pump prices in Kenya depend on the pump type

Grekkon Limited solar water pumps; surface, and submersible types
How many types of water pumps are there?
1. Surface pumps
i. Solar water pumps. These are both surface, and submersible water pumps. The former is for shallow wells, or reservoirs. The later is for deeper wells . Both are powered by a motor
ii. Electric pumps. Both booster pumps and large surface pumps. The former is for shallow wells, or reservoirs. The later is for deeper wells . Both are powered by a motor
iii. Generator pumps. Both petrol and diesel driven types
2. Submersible pumps
i. Solar-powered pumps
ii. Electric pumps
Generator Water Pumps
Generator pumps are portable, easy to use, and come in various sizes according to the pump’s power. They require regular servicing for optimal performance and are prone to mechanical damage.
SURFACE PUMPS
ELECTRIC BOOSTER PUMPS
These are small inexpensive pumps powered by an AC electric current to pump low water volumes. Booster pumps are used to irrigate small fields or for domestic water use. It is placed on the surface.
It is an easy pump to install, operate and service. They are portable and require low voltage to operate. The disadvantage is that farmers in off-grid locations cannot use them.
In these areas, a solar or generator version will be used because sunlight and fuel are easily available and accessible.
GENERATOR PUMPS
Generator pumps are the most common water pumps in Kenya for use by large, medium, and smallholder farmers. This is because they are easy to move about, are inexpensive and common in many outlets. The easy availability of fuel all over the country makes it convenient to use them. It is simple to operate and service for any farmer. They are surface pumps further categorised as;
- Diesel pumps
- Petrol pumps
Both categories have the following pumps;
i. Low water volume, high-pressure
ii. Low water volume, low-pressure
iii. High water volume, high-pressure
iv. High water volume, low-pressure
Diesel Water Pumps Prices
Pressure rating | Specs; head, flow rate, inlet/outlet pipe size, and horsepower | Price in KES |
Low | 28M, 30 cubic per hour, 3″, and 5.2Hp | KES 28,000 |
High | 75M, 39 cubic per hour, 3″, and 14Hp | KES 70,000 |
High | 84M, 41 cubic per hour, 3″, and 16Hp | KES 80,000 |
High | 95M, 39 cubic per hour and 16Hp | KES 85,000 |
SOLAR SURFACE PUMPS
Solar
Grekkon Limited’s surface solar pumps use an electric current generated from a series of solar panels. They are low pressure, low volume pumps that are used to pump water from shallow wells or rivers. Our surface solar water pumps are single-phase pumps because they use low power.
They require a single panel supplying 200-280 kw to operate. They are affordable and support irrigation in off-grid locations. A good illustration is in drip irrigation systems in flat lands where additional pressure is necessary. This pump will create pressure to move water over large areas in the farm.
SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS
ELECTRIC SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS
Electric

Directindustry
Our submersible electric pumps are powered from the power grid. We have a choice of submersible electric pumps that pump from within the water. These type of water pumps deliver water from deep wells and boreholes. Our submersible electric pumps are further categorised according to power supply. Here, we have 3-phase pumps which are larger and require greater power, and single phase pumps which use less power.
These require low maintenance through service once every five years. Their stainless steel cover preserves them for decades without rust. Their disadvantage is that they cannot be used in off-grid locations. In these places, their solar powered versions work best.

SOLAR SUBMERSIBLE PUMPS
Solar Water Pumps
Grekkon Limited’s solar pumps use an electric current generated from a series of solar panels. We have a choice of submersible solar pumps that pump from within the water. These are expensive to install but save in the long run being no periodic electric bills. They use direct sunlight energy for seven hours daily. A converter is used to make this into into an electric version when needed. For example during the rainy or cold season, the hybrid pump will use electricity from the grid. During sunny days, sunlight will be used.
